Health, Wealth and Environmental Sustainability Workshop
19th June 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Liverpool City Region Wealth and Wellbeing Programme is running a series of workshops throughout 2019 to promote connections across the system of organisations, communities, councillors and services that support people to access work opportunities and to retain employment in the region. These workshops sit alongside other work that is about developing a narrative on wealth and wellbeing from communities upwards and providing an evidence case for the role of poor health in limiting productivity in the region and the evidence case for action. All of this work will inter-relate and feed into the development of the Local Industrial Strategy for LCR.
The next workshop is in Knowsley at The Venue, Huyton L36 9GD from 12.00 to 2.00pm on Thursday 11th July. The question under discussion is:
Health, Wealth and Environmental Sustainability
What would it mean for our economic regeneration and inclusive economy agenda if we took on board, to a serious degree, environmental survival? Are jobs for everyone more important than a good quality environment for everyone? Can we find a way of including everyone in a fair share of the economy that at the same time reverses environmental damage and means that everyone’s health benefits from having access to good jobs and a thriving environment?
This workshop is being organised with the support of the Year of The Environment and will be a useful addition to the discussion and connections across the system so far generated through these workshops.
