Introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals
10th October 2019 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The aim of this forum is to raise awareness of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or Global Goals), and how employers across a multitude of sectors can benefit from the long-term plan to be Carbon Natural by 2050.
A focus of this event will be how employers can implement some changes or to recognise what they are already doing to support this initiative, offering opportunities for learning and networking. This would also support us moving forwards in identifying suitable future events should the need be raised from feedback.
Focusing on the opportunities for organisations in striving towards the SDG’s, our forum aims to challenge perceptions on how people view tackling the current crisis we find ourselves today. How taking small individual steps but together as a community, can make a huge difference.
There are opportunities in finding innovative solutions to the sustainability crisis in the form of new products/services, markets or business models, we can ensure long-term business success whilst contributing towards the sustainable development goals.
A key focus on Energy & Environmental, Manufacturing, Construction and Charity Sectors. The forum will also be looking at the Visitor Economy, Financial and Processional and Digital sectors.
Keynote speaker will be David Connor from 2030hub, they will be upskilling all employers in the SDG’s and how they can impact locally and nationally, offering real examples of good practice and competitive advantage for organisations of all sizes and sectors.
