Get Digging at the Community Tree Planting Event at Norris Green Park
Tuesday 12th February 2019
9:30 -12:30pm and 1:00– 3:00pm, enter the park through gate at Lorenzo Drive, Liverpool L11 1BW and turn right to find the planting team.
Come along and help to improve your local urban park by planting some of the 500 trees being planted during our community planting day. Bring along your own spade or borrow one of ours. The Mersey Forest Team and members of the Friends of Norris Green Park will be there to offer guidance and answer any questions too. Any questions, contact email@example.com
The Northern Forest will comprise over 50 million trees and be planted over the next 25 years. It will stretch from Liverpool across to Hull with the M62 as its spine.
The project will embrace the major cities of Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Chester and Hull as well as major towns across the north. It will deliver major environmental, social and economic benefits that complement the significant growth, investment and new infrastructure that is planned for the north of England.
The Institute of Chartered Foresters, the Mersey Forest and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) invite you to a joint event focused on the value of woodland creation and management.
In light of changing land management priorities and the plans for planting 50 million trees as part of the Northern Forest announced in the government’s 25 Year Plan for the Environment, the Institute, Mersey Forest and RICS are bringing together an exceptional team of speakers to highlight current opportunities and challenge traditional thinking around this often undervalued asset class.
This is a great opportunity for professional foresters and rural surveyors, land agents and land owners, to get together and take a fresh look at where woodland could be adding value.
