Wirral Chamber: Energy & Environmental Forum & Beach Clean

The Energy & Environmental Sector Forum and beach clean aims to bring together stakeholders and businesses in our natural world and resources.

We will look at how the Wirral is impacting on our atmosphere and environment, hearing from a variety of different organisations regarding their energy and environmental agendas. The event will cover a wide range of topics, including, single-use plastics, energy usage and ocean cleanliness.

Unique to our forum, it will feature a beach clean at New Brighton Beach, coordinated by NEO and the community sector leads and is aimed at highlighting individual and the business impact on the natural world. Following presentations, all delegates will be invited to take part, so please ensure you dress appropriately if you plan on taking part in the beach clean.

Johnathan Quinn, Chair of the Energy and Environmental Forum will welcome members and speakers will include:

Mike Cockburn, Wirral Borough Council: Will cover the Local Authority’s Single Use Plastic policy and local Refill Initiative, highlighting how employers can support both initiatives.

Evelyn Stewart, Town Lane Infant School Eco Committee: Will cover the Schools Eco Committee and the importance of local businesses supporting the environmental agenda for out youth.

John Mathias, Liverpool John Moores University: Will cover the new Clean Growth Project UK and the opportunities open to employers working within the Environmental sector to engage with the university.

Alisa Gibson, CLASP: Will deliver focused Climate Adaptation and Business Resilience training to all employers that attend the event, being both informative and with links to all supporting documentation to enable employers to ensure their business is ready for any climate impact.

Amanda Collins, Inspired Energy: Will cover the support available for employers linking to energy switch over but also focusing on the support available for employers linking to LED lighting and other Green Initiatives.
