National Tree Week is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration, marking the start of the winter tree planting season (November to March each year). National Tree Week is a great chance for communities to do something positive for their local treescape.
Green GB & NI Week will be taking place from the 4th – 8th of November 2019, in conjunction with government’s Year of Green Action (YoGA).
Green GB & NI 2019 is a week of events and activity where government, businesses, academia and civil society will come together to explore how clean growth will change our futures and how we can contribute to action on climate change.
The week will highlight the opportunities, benefits and challenges of reducing our emissions to net zero, ending the UK’s contribution to climate change, and growing our low carbon economy.
The week is themed around how particular parts of life in the UK will evolve, such as having cleaner, warmer buildings, cleaner modes of transport, such as electric vehicles, and reducing our waste with new green technologies all over the UK. Explore below to find out more about clean growth and how to get involved in Green GB & NI week 2019.
Back from the Brink, in partnership with Wildscreen will be at The Observatory & Constellations this November to bring you a series of talks celebrating the natural world around us.

This events involves a stroll around the four gardens and Crosby coastal park.
The area around Crosby beach and Crosby Marine Park stretches from Waterloo to the estuary of the River Alt at Hightown. The Coastal Park is currently home to the Iron men of Anthony Gormley’s Another Place.
The marine lake at Crosby is always of interest and the vast expanse of sandy beach provides resting and feeding locations for flocks of wading birds where the dunes shelter new arrivals.
The lakes and dunes have played host to a number of visitors over the years, including Long-Tailed Duck, Snow Bunting, Grey Phalarope, Lesser Scaup and Goldeneye.
