RSPB: Hale Park and Pickerings Pasture Nature Reserve

This event will involve searching through Hale Park for migrants and finches, before heading down to the estuary coastal path. We will then be moving onto Pickerings Pasture Nature Reserve later on, where the Cafe will hopefully be open!

The walk is fairly easy, however the paths in the woodland and along the coast can be slightly tricky. Benches are sporadic at Hale and there are no facilities except for the Pub.

*Please dress appropriately as it can be chilly along the coast*

Moth Night 20th Anniversary

Moth Night is organised in partnership with Atropos, Butterfly Conservation and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, and is an annual celebration of moth recording throughout Britain and Ireland.

Come and celebrate 20 years since the launch event of Moth Night in 1999, with this three night (Thursday-Saturday) event.

World Car Free Day

Ever since the first vehicle rolled onto the streets in 1886, the world has had a love-hate relationship with the motor car. Today, with over one billion motor vehicles on the roads around the globe, it sometimes seems as if we cannot escape the pollution, noise and danger that they produce.

One day a year is set aside to try and avoiding using cars and cycling, walking or using public transport instead. Car Free Day aims to take the heat off the planet for just one day by encouraging people to be less dependent on their cars and try alternatives.

Why not take action locally and avoid using your car!

Wirral Wildlife: Heritage Walk

This tour will take you on an exploration of the industrial history of the former railway goods yard, and how this contributed to the wildlife biodiversity of the park. This will focus particularly on the brick-making and railway operations that shaped the park that stands today.

A short walk of approximately 600 metres, but there is so much to see in this short distance.

Tea and cakes will be provided at the end of the tour.

*The lower half of the park is disabled-accessible*

Car and bike parking is available on site and there are good public transport links available.
